Fatima Hussain – Psychology Student (April 17, 2021)

Fatima Hussain is a third year psychology student at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She also studied abroad in the UK, taking courses in political science. She is involved in suicide prevention research and is working on a thesis researching mental health attitudes and knowledge in the Muslim community. Fatima volunteers for the Crisis Textline and the Mental Health Association of Central Florida. She serves as the engagement chair for the Longest Day committee of the Alzheimer’s Association local chapter. In the past, Fatima volunteered at a food pantry, homeless shelter, and hospital. At UCF, she works with the Refugee and Immigrant Education Initiative, the Pediatric Association of Caring Knights, Period @ UCF, and Honors Congress. She is also a virtual assistant to a Muslim psychologist. In the future, she hopes to attend a PhD program in Clinical Psychology to become a psychologist in a hospital and also conduct research.
